 The determination of total sulfur content by ultraviolet fluorimetry is another international standard of natural gas developed by Southwest Oil and gas field. In October 28th, members of the international standardization organization's Natural Gas Technology Committee passed the bill, and officially became the international standard and released publicly.


Ultraviolet fluorescence is the recommended standard method for the determination of total sulfur in natural gas based on photoelectric theory. Compared with the 3 international standards of total sulfur content, this method is more simple, environmentally friendly, and has strong anti-interference and stability. It has attracted widespread international attention and recognition.


In October 2014, the southwest oil and gas field company, the natural gas Research Institute and the gas transmission management department, took the lead in the international standard formulation work on the determination of total sulfur content by ultraviolet fluorimetry, and invited experts in Russia, Germany, France, Italian, Dutch and Ukraine to form a standard drafting group. The drafting group entrusted the 10 laboratories of China Institute of Metrology and China's petroleum, Sinopec and China Sea oil to carry out the precision comparison test of important parameters, and put forward international standards that meet the requirements of the state and are suitable for the promotion of the global scope.


Zhou Li, a senior engineer of the natural gas Research Institute of Southwest Oil and gas field, "the determination of total sulfur content by ultraviolet fluorescence method" is the international standard of second natural gas fields led by China, which has improved the Chinese discourse power in the field of natural gas.
